Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 July 2026
1. What Interboard is
Interboard is independent practice and preparation software for competency-based professional assessment interviews. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. No affiliation, no guarantee
Interboard is independent and is not affiliated with, authorised or endorsed by RICS, IChemE, or any awarding body. Awarding-body names and the structure of their assessments are referenced only to describe what you are preparing for. Interboard provides no accreditation and does not guarantee any assessment outcome.
We will not write your submission. RICS restricted generative AI in submission writing in June 2025. We will not sell you a rule breach, and we will not help you edge up to one. We interrogate what you wrote. We never author it. This is a term of these Terms, not a preference: a feature that drafted or improved submission text would breach your awarding body's rules on your behalf, so we do not offer one and you should not attempt to obtain one from the service.
The refunds Interboard does promise are set out in sections 7 and 8 and published in full, with every condition, on the guarantees page. None of them is conditional on an assessment result.
3. AI output is practice - not an assessment
The verdicts, readiness scores, feedback, lessons and questions Interboard produces are generated by AI for practice purposes only. They are not an official assessment, not professional, legal or financial advice, and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. A strong result in Interboard does not predict or guarantee success in your real assessment, and a weak one does not mean you will fail. Always verify anything important against your awarding body's official guidance and your own professional judgement.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the documents and answers you provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload them and for not including confidential third-party information you are not permitted to share. By using the AI features you accept that your content is processed as described in the Privacy Policy, including that submitted content may be used by the AI provider to improve its models. Redact confidential detail before submitting (we show you how at the point of submission).
5. Acceptable use
Use Interboard for your own genuine assessment preparation. You must not:
- misuse, overload, probe or attempt to disrupt the service or its security;
- attempt to bypass usage limits, access other users' data, or reverse-engineer the service;
- use it to generate unlawful, harmful, infringing or deceptive content;
- submit content you do not have the right to share, or that contains others' personal data without a basis to do so;
- resell, sublicense or present the service's output as an official assessment.
6. Availability & AI limits
The service relies on a third-party AI provider and may be unavailable, slow, or limited at times, and features may change. We provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Payment, your cancellation right & refunds
The Assessment Window Pass is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. For a single payment, shown in full at checkout before you pay, you get access to the programme you choose for its validity window: from the day you buy until your assessment interview date plus 30 days, or, if you have not set a date, 183 days from purchase. However your interview date moves, the window never runs later than 365 days from purchase. Payment is taken by our payment provider, which acts as merchant of record. There is nothing to cancel or renew and no recurring charge.
As a digital service, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Because access is granted immediately, at checkout you consent to us beginning to provide the service straight away and acknowledge that, once you start using it, you lose the automatic statutory right to cancel for a refund. Even so, we offer the satisfaction refund below.
Our satisfaction refund: 14 days or 2 full mocks, whichever comes first. If Interboard isn't right for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase, or before you have completed 2 full mock interviews, and we will refund your payment in full. No reason is required. We state both halves because access starts the moment you pay: 2 completed full mock interviews is substantial use of this service, and it is the point at which the statutory right you waived at checkout would have lapsed in any case. This is a guarantee of your satisfaction with the software - it is not a promise about any real assessment outcome, consistent with section 2. Refunds are issued through our payment provider. To request one, message us via the contact page.
Interboard also publishes a longer conditional promise, The Chartered Guarantee, set out in full in section 8.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including that digital content and services must be as described and provided with reasonable care and skill.
8. The Chartered Guarantee
The Chartered Guarantee is a promise about our programme, not about your result. It is offered in addition to the refund in section 7 and, consistent with section 2, no part of it is conditional on passing, and none of it is a guarantee of any assessment outcome. The same terms are published, with the ladder drawn out, on the guarantees page.
What you must do. Complete the readiness programme inside your window: 6 full mock interviews, your full lesson track, and drills on every competency your debriefs rated red. Your lesson track is stated as a track rather than a number because its length differs by assessment. The app shows all three as a live checklist, and the same computation is what a claim is checked against.
What we then owe you. If you complete the programme and your final assessment result is a referral, your next assessment window is free: a full pass for the next sitting, retargeted at your referral report, at no charge. If you are referred again, having completed the programme again, the window after that is also free. Complete the programme in every window the ladder allows and, if you are still not chartered, we refund the full £497.
How far the ladder runs. The ladder runs to 3 assessment windows. That is our number, not the awarding body's, and it is set by how long a payment can still be refunded rather than by how many attempts you have. Your awarding body's own attempt limit is separate and may be higher, so you can keep sitting after this promise has paid out in full.
Which assessment counts. Each window is bound to a named assessment session, agreed when the window opens. If you defer to a later sitting, the window follows you to it, but a deferral does not create an extra window.
How to claim. Claim by emailing your referral confirmation to support@interboard.co.uk within 60 days of each result. One claim per rung.A claim needs your awarding body's written confirmation of the result, and we may decline a claim we cannot verify or one where the programme was not completed inside the window.
How an approved cash refund is paid. Where the time elapsed means your original payment method can no longer be refunded, we pay by bank transfer to an account in your name, within 30 days of approving your claim.
If we stop trading. If Interboard ceases trading, the unused part of what you paid for the current window is refunded. That is an honest statement of what we owe rather than a fund held in escrow, and you should weigh a promise that runs for years on that basis.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interboard and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including any assessment result, lost opportunity, or reliance on AI-generated output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
10. Account termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or where we are required to by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends; the sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers and limitation of liability) continue to apply.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
